Our Story

Our story begins with Dr Haydon Dyer, who trained as an osteopath in 1952, following several years working as an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon in Hong Kong and London. Moving to Northumberland in the mid 1950’s, Dr Dyer began working as an osteopath in Gosforth with Dr Watson. In 1961 Dr Dyer started practising at 113 Osborne Road, beginning the legacy of Dyer Family Osteopaths. Following in his father footsteps, Richard Dyer qualified as an Osteopath in 1990, joining Dr Dyer and working here since. Richard’s daughter Lily Dyer trained as an Osteopath following completion of her Biomedical Sciences degree, joining the practice in 2024.
